Cross-seasonal Investigation Regarding the Composition of atmospheric trace matter Up to UTLS heights – CIRCUS (B02)

B02 aims at: 1) The long-term view on the presence/proportion of MPs in the UTLS over Central Europe, 2) the vertical transport of precursors and trace substances into the UTLS due to frontal uplift (coupling to Phase I) as also composition and formation/conversion processes in the planetary boundary layer PBL and up to the UTLS, and 3) an additional focus on nano-particles: an extension and modification of the balloon-borne instrument package will be designed, for which the instruments have already been tested success-fully.
