Hybrid, flow-oriented assembly organization
Final Report Abstract
The research project HyFlowJobShop follows the ambition to combine the organizational forms of the flow and jobshop principle. The existing pure forms of organization can no longer meet the increased requirements due to the higher number of variants and shorter amortization periods for production systems as a result of shorter product life cycles. The combination of jobshop and flow principles to create hybrid organizational forms should offer companies an opportunity to position themselves in the conflict between the required flexibility and the achievement of logistical targets as well as the resulting costs. In order to quantify the advantages of hybrid organizational forms, various system configurations are examined as part of a simulation study in order to identify interdependencies and influencing variables.
