As a research-intensive, internationally oriented comprehensive university, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU), together with the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (UM), supports the science policy goal of unrestricted access to scientific information. With regard to the development of an information budget, it has taken numerous measures in recent years to promote Open Access (OA) and to support the necessary transformation of the publication market. Based on this preparatory work, the project aims to further develop the existing funding offers and financing structures for media and publications at JGU and UM, as well as the administrative structures for monitoring these costs, and to provide the technical infrastructure required for this project. The implementation will be accompanied by a variety of knowledge transfer activities and the expansion of the already established consulting services on various OA models, the CC-BY licensing model, and predatory publishing.
