Project Details
Probing Dynamics of Supported Noble Metal Catalysts through Scale Bridging Analytical in situ Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy (A06)
Subject Area
Technical Chemistry
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426888090
The aim of project A06 is to investigate the dynamic processes of individual and collective interactions between nanoparticles and substrate as a function of synthesis and process conditions, temperature and chemical atmosphere. Particular attention will be paid to the mechanisms of particle migration and sintering. Complementary to the other electron microscopy (EM) projects, A06 combines analytical in situ scanning EM with transmission EM to extend the scale bridging approach and thus close the gap between nano- and mesoscale. This methodological approach supports the transfer of knowledge between A07N, A05, B01, B03 and C03.
