Building on the previous results of B05, C05 now aims to develop the first phenotype specific neuromodulation treatment specifically designed to retune gait disturbances in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). By combining in-depth laboratory assessments of gait with long-term multimodal home monitoring, we will develop multifactorial and personalized models to identify neurophysiological biomarkers encoding gait and predicting gait disturbances. We will then test neuromodulation protocols based on these gait-specific neurophysiological biomarkers in patients, thus taking the final step to propose an effective therapeutic strategy for gait disorders in PD.
