SFB 425:  Electromagnetic Compatibility in Medical and Industrial Environments

Subject Area Computer Science, Systems and Electrical Engineering
Term from 1999 to 2002
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5483277

EMC problems in hospitals and factories get their present and futurerelevance from the progression of automation, e.g. by the use of robotsystems in the operating room of the future, and the increasinglygrowing appearance of new disturbance sources. The basic goal of the joint interdisciplinary investigations isenhancing the understanding of EMC problems by deployment and developement of innovative numerical methods, analytical and experimental investigations and from the developement of models that describe the physical relations. Thereby, it will be possible to satisfy the high requirements of the environment of hospitals and factories. Accordingly, research aims at the modelling of real disturbance environments as well as the verification of these models by using alternative test procedures to permit a specific adaption of electrical and electronic systems to each environement. The research program consists of 14 projects.
