Project Details
Dynamic Reactors by Induction Heating of Catalysts (C06*)
Subject Area
Technical Chemistry
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426888090
This project explores induction heating of catalysts as highly dynamic heating concept, which enables new techniques for fundamental operando studies and technical application alike. The aim is to prepare modified supported catalysts for emission control by introducing susceptor materials for induction heating, which allows for rapid heating due to heat dissipation within the catalyst. Similar effects can be realized by bringing susceptor materials in direct contact with the catalyst. The combi-nation of suitable catalyst concepts for induction heating and reactors with an advanced temperature control directly leads to a new operando cell for tracking intermediates on the catalyst surface.
