Final Report Abstract

Kurzdarstellung der wichtigsten Forschungsprojekte und wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten, für die das Gerät in den ersten drei Jahren seit Inbetriebnahme genutzt wurde: 1. PAK55 “Multiple Continent collision in the Rhodopes” (DFG-Bündelantrag Froitzheim, Münker, Nagel) zur Erforschung der tektonischen und magmatischen Entwicklung in den Rhodopen. Das Gerät wurde ausgiebig zur petrographischen Untersuchung von metamorphen Gesteinen benutzt (e.g. Schmidt et al., 2010; Nagel et al., 2011; Kirchenbaur et al., in press). 2. "The fractionation of Highly Siderophile Elements (HSE) during partial melting, and its implication for the HSE composition of the primitive upper mantle" (DFG-Projekt, Fonseca). Das Gerät wird zur Charakterisierung von Sulfiden in experimentellen und natürlichen Proben eingesetzt. (e.g. Laurenz et al., 2010; Fonseca et al. 2011; Fonseca et al., in review). 3. “Formation, deformation and exhumation of a high-pressure/ultra-high-pressure mélange - the Adula Nappe (Central Alps).” (DFG-Projekt, Nagel). Das Gerät wird zur petrographischen Beschreibung von Hochdruck-metamorphen Gesteinen aus den Alpen eingesetzt (e.g. Herwartz et al., 2011). 4. “Experimental silification of wood” (DFG-Projekt, Ballhaus). Das Gerät wird zur Untersuchung von natürlich silifizierten und experimentell überprägten Holzproben eingesetzt (e.g. Ballhaus et al., in press). 5. Geisler-Wierwille – Hydrothermale Überprägungen von uranhaltigen Gläsern im Experiment.
