The project investigates the gender-specific dimensions of power and abuse in the context of the Roman Catholic Church in Germany. It provides a confessionally specific analysis and critique of traditional and institutionalised gender orders in the church and theology, with a view to both theory and practice. The subject of the study is the complex feminist and gender-theological investigations into questions of power and gender that have been presented since 2010, their theoretical and legal references, and feminist church practice formats from the same period. The aim of the systematic evaluation and further development of these current discourses and new concepts of gender orders is a revision of the understanding of power based on gender theology.
