A13 (Tozman) aims to develop a thermally stable gap permanent magnet by stabilizing the metastable 3:29 phase in Sm₃Fe₂₉₋ₓMₓ with minimal dopants elements (M = Cr, V, Mo, Ti) to maximize magnetization. Element-specific spectroscopy (A03, A12, B05) and magnetic/structural characterization (A08, Z01, Z02), along with thermodynamic calculations (A08), will evaluate the effect of dopants to meet the target intrinsic magnetic properties (A01, A02) of anisotropy field > 5 T, magnetization > 0.8 T, and Curie temperature > 550 K. Strategies from phase decomposition, machine learning for rapid material development (B13), and optimizing processing conditions will be used to develop high coercivity.
