Subject Area
Art History
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 451897170
The subject of the project is architectural and literary visions of the future that emerged in the 1960s to 1990s as reactions to technology- and consumption-oriented concepts of the future as well as to economic, ecological, and social crises. They are interpreted as attempts to develop alternative spatial concepts and narratives beyond the logic of efficiency, consumption, and growth, thereby opening up new possibilities for action in a society increasingly perceived as being in crisis. The aim is to highlight interventions in historical and current architectural practices.
