Project Details
Understanding IVIg triggered checkpoints leading to remission of autoimmune inflammation (TP03)
Subject Area
Metabolism, Biochemistry and Genetics of Microorganisms
Term
since 2026
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 550296805
The project aims to understand how intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) triggers remission of autoimmune inflammation in the skin and joints at the molecular and cellular level. Building on previous findings, the project focuses on the Dectin-1/FcγRIIb axis, an important IgG dependent negative regulator of innate immune cell activation. We will investigate how the Dectin-1/FcγRIIb axis modulates the function of innate immune effector cells in classical as well as in humanized mouse model systems and how this inhibitory signaling hub is structured at the level of the cell membrane.
